RealityPlatform and RealityTWIN users, need to explore high quality Gaussian and point cloud data smoothly on mobile devices so that they can review, navigate, and communicate spatial information without being tied to a desktop.
Current Experience
When opening large Gaussian or PortalCAM captured datasets on mobile devices:
Increasing visual quality quickly degrades frame rate and responsiveness
Navigation becomes difficult and unintuitive on touch interfaces
Mobile devices struggle to maintain usable performance
Users are forced to significantly reduce quality or abandon mobile usage entirely
These issues are consistently reproducible across multiple PortalCAM datasets and mobile devices.
Expected Experience
Mobile users should be able to:
Load and navigate RealityPlatform Layouts or RealityTWIN environments using adaptive performance and quality controls
Maintain stable and usable frame rates on mobile hardware
Benefit from mobile aware rendering strategies optimized for Gaussian and point cloud data
Use intuitive touch based navigation designed specifically for mobile interaction
This would enable mobile devices to serve as a reliable review, communication, and validation tool rather than a fallback option.
